Knowing that many of you would like to grow in your spiritual life, we are always looking for ways to help you. We found this link on the web and offer it to you as a tool to use for personal growth. We hope you find it useful.
The Basics of this Self-directed Retreat
Offered in a 34-week format,
the retreat is modeled after the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, the
founder of the Society of Jesus--a Roman Catholic order of priests. The virtual
pilgrimage began as a supplement for faculty and staff at
Creighton University; and now 50 of them contribute to the web site through
a daily written reflection of scripture. Each week an online retreat guide shows
how to prepare oneself. Also provided are additional resources that are included
in the scriptural readings, prayers, and photographs for each week, a
contribution by a photojournalist, Rev. Don Doll.
Ways to Share this Powerful Tool
Several important ways we might share the graces of a spiritual online retreat
include:
(1) Tell others you know who might welcome the opportunity to grow in their
relationship with God through a self-directed retreat;
(2) Print key pages for someone who doesn't have a computer and might benefit
from the week's picture or the guideposts; and
(3) Read the sharing of others or consider offering (even anonymously) your
experience of the weekly exercises to that sharing.
