Finding Our Way Home
God Speaks to Us:
Matthew 17:1-5 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.
Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!"
We Reflect On His Word
· If Jesus want to speak to you about your life, what do you think He would say?
· When you are considering something do you pray for wisdom?
· What do you think Jesus is calling you to do to build His kingdom?
We Live Out Our yes:
Dear Jesus, I will try to listen to you! I will be determined to read the Bible each day and to discern what it is saying. I want to do your Will Jesus and so I will learn your Word so that I will know you more and more.
Josh absolutely could not stand his cat. He would give you many reasons why but the latest the cat scratching him was the last straw. He took the cat and put it in the car and drove about twenty miles and then put the cat out and said “Get Lost” as he drove away. He returned home and guess what, the cat was there! Josh couldn’t believe it, so this time he scooped the cat up, put it back in the car and drove further away into the country and then when he figured he was miles away from home, out he put the cat. Well, he was not home more than an hour when he heard the cat whining! It couldn’t be, but it was the cat was back at his house once again. This time Josh said “Okay, Buddy, this is it!” and he picked the cat up and back in the car he went. This time he drove real far, but he also made sure he made lots of turns and zig zags so the cat wouldn’t be able to remember the path home. He drove all over, sometimes in circles and way far away. So when he thought he had done enough turns he stopped the car and tossed the cat out, saying “Good bye forever!” Later that day, Josh called his wife Mary and said, “Mary, is the cat there?” “Yes” she answered, he said put him on the phone, I am lost and need directions for home!”
I think that is us many times…we get lost and need directions. Don’t ever forget thought that we have been told by Mary at the Wedding Feast of Cana, “Do Whatever He Tells You and by the Father at the Transfiguration. Read the Word, keep your Bible close, and you will always find your way home!
