Strong Bundles
God Speaks To Us:
John 15: 5-8 Jesus said:"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
We Reflect On His Word:
· How can we remain united with Jesus?
· What is his “word” that must remain in us?
· What fruit do you bear in your life?
We Live Out Our Yes:
I will always remember that division is the greatest scandal in Christianity. I will always work towards being understanding and loving, even of those whose opinions differ from mine.
Aesop, an ancient Greek teacher and story teller, used stories to instruct his pupils.
One story is about a father whose sons were always fighting among themselves. One day he called them together and set in front of them a bundle of small branches. Then he invited each son to break the bundle in half. Of course, no son could. Then the father gave them the branches--one by one-- to break. They did so with ease. The father then made his point: My sons, if you remain united, you will be able to withstand any difficulty. If you don't, it will be able to defeat you.
When we remain united as Christians with Christ no power will ever be able to defeat us.
